Well so much for a free global internet, when the United States Government can seize websites and/or web domains belonging to the news media of a sovereign foreign country; as hated as that country may be.

Heck, Americans don't even have true free speech in their own country; this is why we formed Twpter.com I wonder how long before they shut us down because they don't like what people say here.

@test6 Test proper atuser populate of reply to re-tpwt. replies to re-twpts are supposed to be auto-populated with atuser name of re-twpting user, not the original author of the twpt being re-twpted. therefore atuser populated here should be test6 NOT test5

@test5 Got it. I'll book this for some coding time when I get a chance.

I think I know what the problem is, the re-twpt fetching module uses the same variable name that the at-user populate is drawing from to insert into / populate the reply.

This was the same problem with the replies to re-twpts grabbing the SCID data from the original twpt, not the SCID data from the re-twpt, which was often on some other page, so there is no way the comment display module could find it, since comment text files are no longer duplicated on each page's comment page folder they appear in.

System Glitch Found.

There seems to be a glitch regarding replying to re-twpts on hash tag pages and also user timelines.

replies to these items are being logged and saved to the server but they are not being displayed where they are supposed to.

We are aware of this glitch and we are working on fixing it.

New Functionality.

We added a hash tag finder button on the main comment entry dialog. This will allow you to easily find the hash tag you are looking for without duplicating existing hash tags with alternate spellings or use of capitol letters.

After we get some more testing done on this new feature we will add it to all of the comment entry points.

The way to counter this #Multinational first of all is: OPEN DISCUSSION and FREE SPEECH. “We the People” need to be able to speak freely among ourselves without the censorship that the Multinationals would impose on us in order to stifle our efforts to organize and discuss matters to achieve the consensus and compromise that would result in governance that is in OUR interests, not the interests of the Multinationals.

Second: We all need to be ideologically nimble to win against the Multinationals, do not confine your thinking to any one religion, philosophy, school or thought, or other such intellectual construct. I think it is entirely possible, and in fact very necessary to leave religion out of the discussion on how to save Western Civilization from the planned destruction, decline, and slow motion collapse that we currently witnessing.

The true enemy of Western Civilization, what is bringing all of this destruction and debasement of our way of life is the “ #Multinational “ not a specific entity, corporation, or group of people of a particular religious affiliation.

I don't think atheism is the problem. If belief in a Creator God, or specifically: #Christianity or the #bible brings you spiritual comfort and helps to guide your behavior in constructive and beneficial ways, that you may not pursue on your own volition; then your adherence to your religion is good for you and perhaps society at large.

However, there are several problems with unquestioning adherence, and blind faith in any religion, institution, philosophy, school of thought, or any such construct that society has a tendency to vest with authority.

Perhaps the biggest problem is corruption of the leaders and overall mission of the institution or religion. Perhaps those leaders really lust for power control and conformity of the masses, not the good of society, perhaps they are beholden to others through blackmail, graft, hidden ownership, or some other compromising arrangement. -continued- #FightClub

System Announcement:

Bug Fix - Twpts and replies to Twpts were both supposed to be 1024 characters. However, the reply module was not updated to include this change, as replies were previously limited to 500 characters.

Note: the 1024 character limit on Twpts and replies includes line breaks which count for 4 characters each due to the hidden HTML characters that are coded into proper line breaks.

Therefore, on average, count on about 997 - 1000 visible typed characters in the average Twpt that contains a few paragraphs; after line breaks are factored in.

If any of your Twpts were shorted these 524 characters, contact me or @cali to get (Tc) compensation, be sure to reference the date & time of the twpt you are claiming compensation for.

When I re-twpted your meme with caption, we found out that the system was not properly parsing the reply to code to make the reply show up on your timeline.

re-twpts and replies to all twpts should now get auto-populated with the atuser name of the person you are replying to; so a reply or re-tpwt should show up in that person's time line. #NewUsers

@bfritz we disabled all html tags in comments to obviously protect against malicious code injection, but we have been considering enabling a few of the benign html tags so that the more capable and so inclined users can style and format their posts to a greater degree than simply pasting in a few Emojis.

What html tags would you like to see enabled in comments?

@bfritz regarding img upload fail: we currently only allow uploads of "JPG" images.

What was the file extension of the image you were trying to upload? be sure to include the exact case spelling, as in: "JPG" or "jpg" or "jpeg"

This limitation was done for the sake of uniformity & ease of programming in image uploads.

We may add a separate upload process for other image types such as "GIF", "BMP" or others. Also note the file size limitation, check if your image exceeded the max file size.

Question: What page / hash tag / user timeline were you posting a comment to, when the "Return to Previous Page" button did not return you to the previous page?

Also note, we have an intermittent problem with Hash Tag parsing in comments, we are working on finding the source of the issue. #sysop

@sysop #sysop be on the look out for comments not being displayed on all the hash tags that a user enters into their comment.

I noticed a few comments with multiple hash tags, and upon clicking on some hashtags, not seeing comment on that hashtag page's feed.

This might be a problem with user not entering space at the end a line after a hashtag, or end of comment with hashtag is the last text typed. Perhaps line breaks and EOF markers should be added with a single space before them ensure that a space is added to every hashtag & atuser

Java script that copies text from "copy link" button and copy user @ name button were using a function name that ended in a numeral which was parsed as part of the comment item number, thus causing javascript copy to clipboard routine to copy text from wrong location and item number.

Changed java function name to end in letter instead of number, problem appears to be solved.

Also instituted version number for comment-js file to ensure re-load when changes are made, so returning visitors do not get old version made prior to any changes, causing mis-operation.

Thanks @cali for filling us in on the system glitch concerning Re-twpts that was corrected.

We rolled out a new feature in TEST mode over the weekend.

The "Move Twpts to my Private Folder" button will allow you to hide comments that appear in your timeline. NOTE THIS IS ONLY IN TEST MODE for now 6/1/2021, those comments may permanently not re-appear if you use this feature, until we finish building out the "private" folder these comments will be displayed in. unless you are comfortable from permanently removing these comments from your timeline, do not use this function until we get it completely built.

System Glitch corrected @sysop #sysop

Found and corrected system glitch with re-twpts

the re-twpt fetching routine was resetting the loop / floor variables and preventing subsequent comment from being displayed.

Corrective action: comment out lines that reset those variables on the fetch-re-twpt module.

comments after first re-twpt appear to be displaying properly now, but more testing is required.

System Updates:

Today we did some re-styling of the comment display engine, we changed the color and position of the "Copy Link Button"

We also made the user avatar a "Copy User's @ name" button, so now you can properly address twpts to other users without having to worry about mis-spelling their username.

We also changed the CSS style loading so that you don't need to clear your browser cache.

Next up: Dismissing comments from your own timeline, so you can remove these old system notices. #NewUsers

Hey people! We got the Re-Twpt function up and running.

The Re-Twpt button opens a text entry box and allows you to re-post someone else's Twpt onto your timeline, and also send it to other users or hash tags like so: @tex #NewUsers

It works with regular text comments & replies as well as picture Twpts and Video Clip Twpts.

Our next new feature will probably be a "Copy Embedded Code button" for you web masters out there who want to embed a Twpt onto your website using standard HTML code.

Welcome new users!

A few of you have messaged me regarding increasing the size limit on video clip uploads from 15mb to 25mb or higher.

We are considering this, and we are also considering full length video uploads that get their own page, similar to the big video sharing platforms. This is obviously something that would have wide appeal to our users, but I'm not sure that our bandwidth and internet connections can handle it.

Perhaps if we had more donations coming in, we could "spring" for a bigger pipe (faster internet connection) and be able to accommodate full length videos of 500mb to 800m .

If you haven't been on the site in a while, you will notice a lot of changes and improvements.

We added new functionality, including JPG image uploads, and Video clip uploads (up to 15MB for now).

We are currently working on a "Re-Twpt" function that allows users to share another user's comment with their own followers.

Many of the changes we made changed the CSS styling of the site and you may need to refresh your browser by clearing your browser history so that your browser will download the new CSS styles and coding; otherwise the site may not display properly, with page elements in the wrong place or wrong size etc.

Duplicate comment issue not resolved. Comments will still be duplicated in user feeds, if the receiver of the comment is following the commenter and the commenter also includes them in 'at' user tag.

Commented out of newly added logic that checks for multiple comments. this logic was found to prevent intended comments from logging where they should, and only logged them in commenters feed, not 'at' user's

@sysop I'm glad to see that emojis are working properly. We need to see about offering a set of emojis to users.

Maybe put them in a pop-up window and the user clicks on the emoji they want, and it automatically gets inserted into the comment being written.

Or perhaps some behavior like the copy link button / box, where you click on it, and it is copied to your clipboard, then they paste it into the comment themselves; this may be the easiest way to do it, without too much java script.

We did some work today on the Avatar upload module to make it more intuitive to use. @Deathcruzer

We just added picture upload capabilities, so you can post a screen shot of the problem you had.

We updated the styling of the "Action Box", where the comment page controls are located. It now has a sleeker look with a more intuitive function.

Also, we are working on a picture upload function, but it will be limited to JPG images of a certain file size constraint. We are looking at 250kb or 500kb possibly as the maximum size for image uploads, in order to conserve storage space.

We certainly don't need 3mb+ raw photo images bogging down our server & internet connections. #sysop

**** SYSTEM ANNOUNCEMENT *****

The new comment logging disk storage format / protocol has been instituted without unexpected issues.

Unintended deletion of a few older comments due to incompatibility with the new format appears to be strictly limited to REPLIES, level 1 and higher. Very few level 0 comments were deleted in the process.

@vlad @tex @Larry @sysop Integration of Twpter.com comment engine into TrueWorldPolitics.com is proceeding.

No glitches have been seen, aside from consolidation of CSS file.

Comments will be accessible by registered users from both twpter and TrueWorldPolitics and other websites where the twpter engine is integrated.

However, independently Logging on to each website running the twpter comment engine may be required unless a global cookie is established for universal user sessions. #sysop

Thanks for pointing that out. We will look into it. I suspect that it has to do with the line break not containing a space. There needs to be at least one space in the front of an @ user and one space behind it, if this is not done, the system will not parse it correctly. We may be able to code a script to induce a space when only a line break is present.

My friend, you seem to have a problem with your user messaging.

@ users on separate lines do not receive copies of a comment if they are on different lines of text.

Notice of Major changes to system in coming days that will result in deleted messages.

We are changing the format of how the platform logs & saves messages to the server. This new format is largely incompatible with the old format .
Consequently, most comments on all pages, hash tags and user feeds will be deleted.

Contact me (sysop) if you had any comments deleted and I will issue you at least 50 Twpter credits.
